Our latest Alpha Course, runs this week, on Wednesday at 7.30 at St Paul's Church, Preston.
If you have been thinking perhaps there's more to life and would like the opportunity to explore what the Bible has to say about God, why not come along?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith and is designed for people who don't necessarily believe in God but would like to have the chance to explore it.
The engaging talks (videos with Nicky Gumbel) last around thirty minutes, followed by open discussion.
Each week it explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from
Probably the most important part is the chance to share thoughts and ideas and simply discuss it in a small group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously!). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Here's the programme:
Week 1 Is there more to life than this?
Week 2 Who is Jesus?
Week 3 Why did Jesus die?
Week 4 How can I have faith?
Week 5 Why and how should I pray?
Week 6 Why should I read the Bible?
Week 7 How does God guide us?
Day away Who is the Holy Spirit?
Week 8 How can I resist evil?
Week 9 Does God heal today?
Week 10 What about the church?
So why not give it a try? The absolute worst that could happen is that you don't like it and then all that means is you wasted an evening, but you might just discover that there really is a God and that He's interested in you. That really would be worth risking an evening for!
