We are currently running an Alpha course at St Paul's - if that is something that you might be interested in, although it's too late to join this one, we will be running another soon.
If you have been thinking perhaps there's more to life and would like the opportunity to explore what the Bible has to say about God, why not come along?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith and is designed for people who don't yet believe but would like to have the chance to think about it.
The talks are around thirty minutes and designed to engage and inspire conversation.
Each week it explores the big issues around faith and unpacks the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from
Probably the most important part is the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
Here's the programme:
4th April Is there more to life than this?
11th April Who is Jesus?
18th April Why did Jesus die?
25th April How can I have faith?
2nd May Why and how should I pray?
9th May Why should I read the Bible?
16th May How does God guide us?
19th May Who is the Holy Spirit?
23rd May How can I resist evil?
30th May Does God heal today?
6th June What about the church?
So why not give it a try - the worst that could happen is that you hate it and then all that's happened is you wasted an evening, but you might just discover that there really is a God and that He's interested in you - now that really would be worth risking an evening for!
We start at 7.30 with a buffet, followed by a presentation and then discussion in groups. It's all over by 9.30.
If you would like to come, or maybe just have an initial chat about it, please give me a call or click here to send me an email.
